Sell digital downloads from your Notion pages with FileFreight

Notion is where a lot of creators already live — templates, dashboards, planners, and digital products documented beautifully. But as of October 2026, Notion has no built-in digital-download or license-key checkout: your page can showcase the product, but the moment someone should pay for it, you need a second tool. FileFreight is that second tool: hosted checkout on your Stripe account, then secure delivery — every buyer gets a unique expiring download link, plus a license key if you enable one. Your Notion page keeps its design; FileFreight handles everything after the click.

Set it up in 3 steps

  1. Create your product. In FileFreight, add a product: name, price, and your file (up to 500 MB). Turn on license keys if you sell software or anything activatable. Copy the buy link — the quickstart walks through it in minutes.
  2. Drop it into Notion. On your Notion page, add an Embed block where you want the button, and paste this snippet with your buy link:
    <a href="https://getfilefreight.com/buy/YOUR-BUY-LINK" class="ff-buy-button">Buy now</a>
A plain link block to your buy page works too if you prefer zero markup.
  3. Publish and test. Share the Notion page, click your own button, and buy the product once. You will see exactly what buyers see: Stripe checkout, then an email with their personal download link.

Honest caveats

Frequently asked questions

Can Notion sell digital downloads by itself?

As of October 2026, no. Notion is a docs and workspace tool; it has no built-in digital-delivery or license-key checkout, so you pair it with a delivery tool for the payment and fulfillment half.

Where does the buy button go on my Notion page?

In a Notion Embed block: add one where you want the button and paste the buy-link snippet from this page. A plain link block to your buy page works too. Checkout itself happens on a hosted FileFreight page.

What does the buyer receive after paying?

Payment runs through your own Stripe account. The buyer is then emailed a unique download link with the limits and expiry you set, plus a license key if you enabled one for the product.

Do I have to redesign my Notion page?

No. Your Notion page keeps its design; only the buy button points outward. Nothing about your existing content changes.

Does FileFreight handle sales tax?

FileFreight is not a merchant of record. Payments settle to your own Stripe account, so sales-tax responsibility stays with you.
